This was supposed to be a "productive" weekend, where I try to wind down by doing more constructive things. Sofar, I am not succeeding.
|> '_'|> -(Art in the Park)
The there's still 3 major time-slices of the weekend remaining, however, and I'd very much like to use today's remaining slice to visit Art In The Park at Salcedo Village, Makati.
|> '_'|> -(Perdido Street Station)
My main goals were to do some drawings and/or read. China Mieville's Perdido Street Station has already started to become interesting, but I find myself having difficulty in reading. Normally, I'd blame the writer, but in this case I blame myself. Continuous reading hasn't been a part of my routine in a long time, and now I getting sleepy after just 1-2 pages of any pure text involvement. This needs to be corrected.
|> '_'|> -(Mogworld)
For some reason, I only decided to take a closer look at Mogworld after Yahtzee tweeted a pic of his book in the store shelves. The cover seemed awefully familiar, and I realized that I've already seen it on local bookstores. A quick blurb and review check convinced me that this was actually worth checking-out. Calls to the local bookstores however, were futile, as they are already out of stock. I should've considered the book when I first saw it locally, alas the cover did not interest me one bit. Sigh, now I have to pray they re-order this for local stocks.

Wishing I could watch Puella Magi Madoka★Magica's 7th episode as it aired in Japan yesterday, I had to content myself with watching some Dragonball Z Kai, which still manages to take my interest even after a decade has past. Streamlining that anime has done nothing but good.
I've also been trying to get myself to watch My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute, but the first episode was not able to hook me yet.
|> 'u'|> -(DigRadio)
In the past week or so, NU107 fans were being notified of "something" by Francis Brew due sometime nowish. This morning, fans were requested to keep an eye on DigRadio.ph around 6pm of Saturday. It's not a huge leap to assume they were going to try an internet radio station effort, and if the website is any indication, that appears to be exactly what they did. Given that internet radio is not readily available in the Philippines outside of computers or portables (no internet car radios yet), this will be an interesting exercise in new media for the Philippine setting.
|>'_'|> -(Inside a Star-filled Sky)
Jason Rohrer (of Sleep is Death fame) just released Inside a Star-filled Sky. Unlike his last few efforts, this one is an actual game. The core mechanic is a a twin-stick shooter (or wasd+mouse shooter) combined with a inside/outside mechanic. From what I gather sofar, the level itself is a character, and your current character is playing inside of that. Any powerups you get don't affect you, but when you go "up", the whole level becomes the playable character, and the powerups you got while "inside" begin to take effect. The game is recursive, so you can go in and out of various levels of essentially the same being as far as... well... as far as your PC can handle (I haven't gone more than 7 levels)? The weird thing si that you can actually "go in" powerups to change the attributes of that powerup.
It sounds confusing, but it's easier to digest once you try it out yourself. Unfortunately, there's no demo, so it's a bit of a leap of faith. Currently, it's being sold in a pay what you want + US$1.75 model, so the barrier to entry isn't that big for now. A demo would've been really useful, tho.

It's past 18:30, and the show at DigRadio.ph hasn't formally yet. Let's see if I can practice drawing while I wait.
